Dwight Wade, 75, of Bedford, went home to be with the Lord on December 11th at Deaconess Memorial Hospital. He was surrounded by his big, loving, and noisy family, ready at last to see Jesus face-to-face.
This Christmas, Heaven will be laughing—and covering their ears—as Dwight belts out his favorite ‘Happy Birthday’ to Jesus.
Dwight became a member of Old Union Christian Church as a teenager and faithfully continued his service, including 44 years as an elder. His faith in Christ never wavered through both the joys and challenges of life, and his example continues to shine.
Dwight (Papaw Sir) was the son of the late George and Grace Wade and is survived by his wife, Sherry; their three daughters, Amy (Chris) Pride, Heather (Kevin) Craig, and Joni (Jason) Stigall; and their “way too many” grandchildren: Travin (Ashley) Craig, Bethany (Terry) Godsey, Wade (Averie) Craig, Carlyn and Isabella Stigall, Brecken Helsley (fiancé Alyssa Taylor), Mallory Pride, Ty Pride (fiancé Kati Craig) and Kenley Craig. He is also survived by his great-grandchildren: Case, Colt, and Carsyn Craig; Adeline, Riggs, and Willow Godsey; and one more baby girl Craig on the way. Other survivors include his siblings Trudy Siniard, Sandy (Kim) Wade, Jim (Teresa) Wade, and Gary (Beverly) Wade, as well as many nieces and nephews.
A service to celebrate Dwight’s life will be held at Old Union Christian Church on Wednesday, December 17th, at 6:00 p.m.
And in his own words, as you head out—don’t forget to “SHUT THE DOOR.”
