INDIANA – Indiana is marking a significant milestone this year, celebrating the 25th anniversary of the state’s Safe Haven Law. This vital legislation provides a critical and legal lifeline for parents in crisis, offering them a secure option to surrender an infant without fear of arrest or prosecution.

State Representatives Dale DeVon (R-Granger) and Joanna King (R-Middlebury) recently spoke out to highlight the profound impact of the Safe Haven Law and underscore the importance of protecting Hoosier life.

The Indiana Safe Haven Law permits a parent to anonymously hand over a baby 30 days old or younger to any emergency medical services provider, hospital, police station, or fire station.
