WASHINGTON, D.C.– On Saturday, approximately 300 Indiana National Guard soldiers arrived in Washington, D.C., to support the D.C. Safe and Beautiful mission as part of President Trump’s “Make America Safe Again” agenda.

Senator Jim Banks (R-Ind.) said, “I’m grateful to our Indiana National Guardsmen for helping keep our nation’s capital safe. With so many Indiana families visiting D.C. in the spring, their service helps ensure visitors can see our monuments and history safely. They truly represent the best of our state.”
The Indiana National Guardsmen will assist local and federal law enforcement partners to help deter crime and maintain public order. Soldiers have trained at Camp Atterbury since mid-November to prepare for the mission. As the mission evolves, they will continue training alongside Joint Task Force–District of Columbia.
