Floyd Central splashes to sweep of Stars

BEDFORD – Floyd Central showed its full power while cruising to sweeps of Bedford North Lawrence during high school swimming action on Saturday.

The Highlanders dominated the water in the boys meet, posting a 140-27 victory. In the girls meet, Floyd rolled to a 110-60 win.

BNL’s Sabrina Lipp broke through for a win in 50-yard freestyle, touching first in 26.99. She was also a runner-up in the 100 free (1:01.94). Ava Lipp claimed the 100 backstroke in 1:08.72. Emma Heinzman was a runner-up in the 100 butterfly (1:12.11) and 100 breaststroke (1:23.76).

In the boys meet, the Highlanders swept the top three spots in all eight individual races and took the top two positions in all three relays.

The Stars will visit Bloomington North on Thursday.
