According to a probable cause affidavit filed by Officer Cody Grogan of the Mitchell Police Department, police were contacted by the Department of Child Services (DCS) on November 18, 2025. A DCS Case alerted the department to an incident allegedly occurring on November 9, 2025, at the residence of Walker and the alleged female victim in the 600 block of West Warren Street.

Officer Grogan met with the victim on November 19, 2025, at the Bedford DCS location. The victim stated that on November 9, she and Walker were involved in a verbal argument. She reported that the argument escalated when Walker allegedly entered the bathroom, pushed her into the bathtub, and struck her on the left side of her face with an open palm approximately three times.

The affidavit states that the alleged actions left bruises near her left eye and cheek. The victim told police she bit Walker on his face in self-defense.

The victim stated that Walker’s daughter was in the house during the incident. DCS later found cause to remove the child from Walker’s care on November 21, 2025.

The affidavit notes that a photograph from the day of the alleged incident showing the bruising was provided, and the bruising was still partially visible on the victim’s face on November 19.

Based on the information gathered, Officer Grogan requested an arrest warrant for Joshua Walker, and he was detained on November 25.
