Barbara F. York, 78, of Bedford, passed away on Thursday, November 6, 2025, at her residence. Born on September 13, 1947, in Bedford, she was the daughter of Kenneth Richardson and Zora Jones Kimbrel.
Barbara married Cecil York on March 26, 1966, and he survives. She was a homemaker and deeply loved her family and her grandchildren. She was an avid collector of many things and loved her church, the Life Tabernacle in Springville. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Surviving to cherish her memory are her husband, Cecil York; her two sons, Brian (Deanna) York and Bruce York; one daughter, Barby (Tommy) Grubb; five grandchildren, Jacqueline, Abigail, Zackary, Jacob, and Makayla; one great-grandson, Hunter; two sisters, Ramona Sowders and Rebecca McClusky; one brother, Terry (Pamela) Kimbrel, along with several nieces and nephews.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth Richardson and Zora Kimbrel. and one brother, Kenneth Richardson.
Funeral services for Barbara F. York will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, at the Ferguson-Lee Chapel of Thorne Family Funeral Homes in Bedford, with Pastor Jeff Kelley officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Dive Christian Cemetery. Visitation will also be held on Tuesday at Ferguson Lee, from 10:00 am until the service time of 1:00 pm.
