LAWRENCE/MONROE CO. — Motorists traveling between Monroe and Lawrence Counties should note a temporary closure on Weaver Road today as Monroe County crews work to install a new culvert.
Weaver Road, which connects to McMillan Road in Lawrence County, is currently closed at the county line.
The good news for commuters is that this is expected to be a short-term inconvenience. Officials state that the culvert installation is on track to be completed, and the road is anticipated to be open by the end of the day.
Drivers who regularly use this route should seek alternate paths until the work is finished.
