Obituary: Patricia ‘Patty’ Lou (Wagoner) Stultz

November 8, 1932 – October 22, 2025

Patricia Lou (Wagoner) Stultz, 92, of Bedford, passed from this world at 12:22 pm on Wednesday, October 22, 2025.

Patty was born on November 8, 1932, in Lawrence County to the late Lyman and Doris (Fultz) Wagoner. She was married to the late Ralph G. Stultz for 56 years before his passing in 2006. Patty prided herself on being a secretary, taking and transcribing shorthand, which is no longer offered. She worked in that capacity at Bedford High School, Triangle & Leahy, Indiana Limestone Co., and retired from Citizens National Bank (later Regions).

She served Jesus as her savior, having been a 59-year member of Hillcrest Christian Church. She was a charter member and helped in its original formation.

Survivors include her daughters, Roxana Oliver, of Bedford and Charity Avera and husband, David, of Texas; Lyman’s wife, Lisa; grandchildren, Lindsey Pruett, of Seymour, Luke (Keri) Stultz, of Mitchell, Lauren (Derek) Vincent, of Bloomfield, Ashley (Markous) Jewett, of Arkansas, Allison (Tristan) Hout, of Tennessee, Connor (Alyssa) Avera, of Bedford, Dalton (Ilah) Avera, Brock Avera, and Reece Avera, all of Texas; 16 great-grandchildren, Lana, Brooklynn, Kaycee, Delyn, Brayten, Elias, Jairus, Jax, Tatum, Jordynn, Spencer, Paige, Anderson, Rylee, Hazel, and Donny.

Patty is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her son, Lyman Garland Stultz.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 27th, at Hillcrest Christian Church, with Pastor Mark Fugate officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Pleasant Regular Baptist Cemetery in Silverville. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 26th at the Day & Carter Mortuary and from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service on Monday at the church.
