Betty Marie Wilson, 85, of Bedford, passed away on Tuesday, October 21, 2025.
Born February 17, 1940, in Livingston, Tennessee, she was the daughter of Alvis and Carrie (Neal) McCormick. She married Kenneth Earl Wilson on October 18, 1964, and he preceded her in death on August 11, 2018.
Betty received her Bachelor’s Degree from IUPUI and retired as an insurance agent with State Farm after over 20 years. She enjoyed sewing, going to the gym, and being with her friends. Betty loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a longtime preacher’s wife and member of Bryantsville Church of Christ, and she most recently attended Central Church of Christ.
Surviving are her daughter, Diana Kay (Bob Pirtle), Leader of Simpsonville, South Carolina; grandsons, Michael Paul (Courtney), Leader of Avon, and Daniel Kenneth (Kayla), Leader of Greenville, South Carolina; and great-grandchildren, Jacob Leader, Chambers Leader, Knox Leader, and Ansley Jane Leader.
Her parents, husband, sisters, Wyeath Crumley and Wiletta Fletcher, and son-in-law, Thomas Michael Leader, preceded her in death.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, October 26, at Central Church of Christ, with Brother Rick Leach officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. Burial will be at a later date.
