INDIANA — The National Weather Service (NWS) in Indianapolis has issued a Frost Advisory covering a large portion of central, southern, and western Indiana, warning residents to protect sensitive vegetation overnight.

The advisory will be in effect from 2:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. EDT on Thursday, October 23, 2025.
Temperatures are expected to drop to 32 degrees Fahrenheit, resulting in widespread frost.
Frost could harm sensitive outdoor vegetation. Tender plants left uncovered may be killed.
The NWS has also warned that even more widespread frost is anticipated for Friday morning.
The Frost Advisory includes a large number of Indiana counties and cities, encompassing nearly all of central and southern Indiana. Affected counties include:
Warren, Fountain, Montgomery, Vermillion, Parke, Putnam, Hendricks, Vigo, Clay, Owen, Morgan, Johnson, Shelby, Sullivan, Greene, Monroe, Brown, Bartholomew, Decatur, Knox, Daviess, Martin, Lawrence, Jackson, and Jennings.
Major cities covered by the advisory include Terre Haute, Bloomington, Columbus, Shelbyville, Greencastle, Martinsville, Vincennes, Washington, Bedford, Seymour, and Greensburg.
Residents in the advisory area are urged to take preventive measures immediately. Take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold. Covering sensitive outdoor plants or bringing them inside is recommended to prevent damage.
