OOLITIC— The Town of Oolitic has officially lifted its outdoor burn ban, concluding a period of restrictions put in place to mitigate the fire risk caused by dry weather and drought conditions.

The decision to lift the ban means residents are once again permitted to engage in open burning activities, subject to normal town ordinances and safety precautions.
The burn ban was declared and became effective on October 1, 2025, after the Oolitic Fire Chief and the Town Council made a joint decision due to persistent drought conditions and a lack of forecasted rainfall.
