ORANGE CO. — The Orange County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a fatal single-vehicle crash that claimed the life of a Shoals man on Tuesday.
The accident occurred on County Road 75 North, just east of County Road 1175 West.
Investigators report that John Reichenberger, 63, of Shoals, was driving a 1988 Ford F-150 westbound when the vehicle left the roadway. The truck traveled approximately 470 feet before breaking through a wooden fence and going down an embankment. The truck ultimately struck a tree.
Reichenberger, the sole occupant of the truck, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Orange County Coroner’s Office.
The Sheriff’s Office has extended its condolences to the Reichenberger family as the crash remains under active investigation.
