WASHINGTON — Daviess Community Hospital has announced it received a $5,000 grant from the Indiana Breast Cancer Awareness Trust this year. This funding will enable the hospital to provide free screening and diagnostic breast services to uninsured or underinsured residents.

The initiative aims to remove financial barriers to critical early detection services for women across the region.
The grant will cover the cost of screening mammograms and, when necessary, follow-up diagnostic breast imaging. Women residing in Daviess, Martin, or Pike counties may qualify if they meet specific criteria:
- They are age 40 or older, or under 40 and considered high-risk.
- They are uninsured or underinsured and meet the program’s income guidelines.
DCH emphasized that early detection remains the most effective tool in the fight against breast cancer.
Patients who believe they qualify for the free screening and diagnostic services can contact the hospital directly.
To inquire about eligibility and schedule a mammogram, please call the hospital at 812-254-9324.
