Safety Alerts issued for Bentley, Toyota, Hyundai, Tesla, and Ram vehicles in new NHTSA recalls

INDIANA — The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has announced a series of new vehicle recalls affecting a wide range of manufacturers, including Bentley, Toyota, Hyundai, Tesla, and Stellantis’ Ram brand. Issues range from fire risks in luxury cars and popular SUVs to software glitches that can cause a loss of drive power or rear camera display failure.

Vehicle owners are strongly urged to check their Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) using the Recall Look-up Tool to determine if their specific model is affected. All necessary repairs will be provided by dealerships free of charge.

Here are the key safety recalls announced:

Fire Risk and Loss of Power Concerns

  • Bentley Continental and Flying Spur (NHTSA ID: 25V648): Select 2025-2026 Continental GT, Continental GTC, and 2025 Flying Spur models are being recalled due to a potential defect where the high-pressure fuel pump may leak and cause a fire.
  • Hyundai Santa Fe (NHTSA ID: 25V659): Certain 2024-2025 Santa Fe SUVs face a fire risk stemming from improper wiring of the starter motor, specifically an improperly installed terminal cover that could cause an electrical short during a crash.
  • Ram ProMaster EV (NHTSA ID: 25V665): The 2024-2025 Ram ProMaster is being recalled for a software issue that may cause an unexpected loss of drive power while operating.
  • Altec Industries (NHTSA ID: 25V661 & 25V663): Recalls affect various 2024 FOSV-CA and 2022-2025 ST600 models due to potential fire hazards from overheating battery cables or auxiliary engine circuits.

Camera and Safety Standard Failures

  • Toyota Tundra and Sequoia Hybrid (NHTSA ID: 25V657): Nearly 400,000 vehicles, including the 2023-2025 Sequoia Hybrid, 2022-2025 Tundra, and 2022-2025 Tundra Hybrid, are recalled because a software error may prevent the rearview camera image from displaying, failing to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) 111 (Rear Visibility).
  • Alfa Romeo Giulia and Stelvio (NHTSA ID: 25V667): Certain 2020-2025 Giulia and Stelvio vehicles also experience a rearview camera image display failure, which violates FMVSS 111.
  • Tesla Model Y (NHTSA ID: 25V658): Select 2026 Model Y vehicles are being recalled because the reverse lights may fail to illuminate, in violation of FMVSS 108 (Lamps, Reflective Devices).

Structural and Other Defects

  • Mack Trucks (NHTSA ID: 25V666): Multiple heavy-duty truck models from 2019-2025 (Anthem, Granite, MD, Pinnacle) are recalled for an improperly welded seat belt anchor, failing to meet FMVSS 210 (Seat Belt Assembly Anchorages).
  • Toyota Sienna Hybrid (NHTSA ID: 25V668): A recall is issued for the 2025 Sienna Hybrid minivan due to improperly welded second-row seat rails.
  • Autocar (NHTSA ID: 25V660): 2023-2026 Legend and Xpeditor trucks are being recalled due to concerns that the steering wheel may separate, resulting in a complete loss of steering control.
