WASHINGTON, IN – Authorities have made a swift arrest in connection with the armed robbery of the Marathon Gas Station located at 409 West National Highway, which occurred early Monday morning.
On Tuesday afternoon, officers from the Washington Police Department and Daviess County Sheriff’s deputies located and arrested 18-year-old Issac Hardcastle outside a residence in the 1200 block of McCormick Avenue. The arrest was conducted without incident.

During the arrest, detectives seized a handgun believed to have been used in the commission of the crime.
Hardcastle faces several felony charges, including robbery while armed with a deadly weapon, conspiracy to commit robbery while armed with a deadly weapon, and theft of a firearm.
Law enforcement confirmed that Hardcastle is being held in connection with the robbery, but noted that the investigation remains ongoing. Authorities believe that one other person was present during the commission of the crime, and further details are expected as the investigation continues.
Those facing criminal charges are considered innocent until proven guilty through a fair and due legal process. Accusations alone do not imply guilt; the judicial system will evaluate the presented evidence to reach a verdict.
