WASHINGTON – The Washington Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance after an armed robbery occurred at a local gas station in the early hours of Monday morning.

Detectives are currently investigating the incident and are appealing to residents and business owners for surveillance footage.
The robbery took place at approximately 2 a.m. on Monday, October 7, at the Marathon station located in the 400 block of West National Highway.
According to police, two individuals entered the store and stole items. During the commission of the theft, one of the men threatened the clerk by displaying a handgun.
Investigators report that the pair fled the scene on foot. They were last seen heading west from the convenience store before possibly running north across West National Highway.
The police department is urging residents and business owners in the area surrounding the Marathon station to review their security camera footage for any images or videos that may have captured the suspects in the act or during their escape.
Detectives are specifically requesting footage recorded between 2 a.m. and 2:30 a.m. on Monday, October 7th.
Anyone with video evidence, photographs, or information on the suspects accused of robbing the convenience store is asked to contact the Washington Police Department immediately.
