SOUTH LAWRENCE— South Lawrence Utilities has issued a Boil Water Advisory for all customers on Southridge Drive following damage to a water main this afternoon.
The boil order was put into effect immediately after a contractor inadvertently struck the water line. Utility crews are making repairs.
The advisory is in effect until further notice. Residents on Southridge Drive are advised to take the following precautions:
- Boil all water vigorously for three (3) minutes before using it for drinking, cooking, brushing teeth, washing dishes, or preparing food.
- It is safe to use unboiled water for bathing and washing clothes.
South Lawrence Water officials stated they will notify residents as soon as the line is fully repaired and water samples confirm the water is safe for consumption.
The utility thanked the community for its patience and cooperation while repairs are underway.
