Campbellsburg man airlifted after two motorcycles collide

CAMPBELLSBURG —A Campbellsburg man was seriously injured and airlifted to a Louisville hospital early Sunday morning following a collision involving two motorcycles on State Road 60.

Emergency services were dispatched on September 28, at approximately 12:04 a.m., to the area of State Road 60, near 2393 North Smedley Road, for a motor vehicle accident.

Upon arrival, deputies discovered that two motorcycles had collided on the roadway. One motorcycle was found in a ditch, while the second was located further down the road.

The driver of the motorcycle found in the ditch was identified as 29-year-old Kenny Davey of Campbellsburg. Davey was found unconscious at the scene. He was reportedly not wearing a helmet and was subsequently flown to University of Louisville Hospital for treatment of his injuries.

The second driver, identified as 41-year-old Travis England of Salem, Indiana, was reported to be uninjured in the crash.

Deputy Jordan Crawford is the lead investigating officer for the incident, with assistance from Deputies Paul Reyling, Joe Johnson, Seth Goode, and Jason Hartsfield.

The cause and circumstances of the motor vehicle crash are currently under investigation.
