Obituary: Mary Annette Bailey

October 23, 1942 – September 29, 2025

Mary Annette Bailey, 82, of Heltonville, passed away on Monday, September 29, 2025, at Westview Nursing and Rehabilitation in Bedford.

Born October 23, 1942, in Norman, she was the daughter of Ward and Mary (Samario) Emmons. She married Roger Bailey on November 19, 1960, and he passed away before her on September 5, 2005. She had worked as a cook for NLCS, Salvation Army Camp, Horseman’s Camp, and the Comfort Inn. She also worked at Bell Cleaners, at I.U. Health and for Superior Auto Parts. She was a member of Fairview Community Church, where she taught nursery class for many years. She was a member of the Fairview Ladies Aid and the Flatwood Neighbors Club.

Annette was someone who believed in hard work and taking care of those she held dear. She was a woman of many creative talents. She could make anything from a beautiful afghan to a sweet baby doll.

Survivors include a son, Michael D. Bailey; two daughters, Amy Huff (Scott), and Carie Robbins (Brian); grandchildren, Joseph Huff (Haley), Jessica Huff, Jeffery Huff, and Dru Robbins, a brother, Tom Emmons; sisters-in-law, Marion Bartlett (Joe), Marilyn Grissom, Annie Hornback, Rita Gray (Raymond), Susie Bailey, and Shana Hobson (Mike); a brother-in-law, Duane Bailey (Dana); several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and a brother, Raymond Emmons.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 3, at Fairview Community Church, with Pastor Lindy Hopkins officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairview Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, October 2, at the Day & Carter Mortuary, and from 10:00 am until the hour of service on Friday at the church.
