BNL spreads the wealth during 9-0 win at Austin

AUSTIN – Bedford North Lawrence spread the scoring wealth, with nine different players finding the net, while recording a 9-0 runaway win over Austin during boys high school soccer action on Tuesday night.

BNL (4-7-1) exploded for its most goals since conquering the Eagles by an identical score last season. Austin fell to 1-8-2.

The Stars scored three times during the first 15 minutes. Saeben Arce (33:42), Ian Wilcher (30:01) and Austin Harms (26:09) got BNL rolling.

After slowing down, BNL shifted back into scoring mode in the second half with goals by Noah Childers (30:01), Parker Beeson (21:55), Ayden Patton (penalty kick at 17:22), Burr Hubbard (13:47), Baron Roodschild (4:00) and Zaden Roodschild (2:58 to trigger the early ending).

“We dominated the game,” BNL coach Ryan Otis said. “In the first half, we didn’t bring very good intensity. We weren’t moving off the ball enough. Austin sat back in a block and made it congested.

”In the second half we came out with more energy. We worked the ball outside more and were able to get off quite a few shots.”

BNL owned a 20-1 advantage in shots.

The Stars will visit Bloomington North on Thursday.
