Sandra ‘Sonnie’ Kay (Simmons) Moody of Washington, IN, passed away at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, September 12, 2025, at Ketcham Memorial Center in Odon, IN.
She was born on December 12, 1936, in Bedford, IN, to Forrest and Marjorie Simmons. She was married to Maurice Moody, who passed away in 2013, on June 5, 1955. Their love for each other was unsurpassed.
Sonnie passionately loved her family and was always so happy to see her grandkids. She loved family reunions and getting together with cousins for a meal twice a year. Sonnie always enjoyed her books, decorating for holidays, and playing games with her family and friends.
Survivors include her three children, Cindy (Dennis) Graves of Macomb, MI, Rick (Mary) Moody of Washington, IN, and Tammy Eaker of Washington, IN; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Sonnie has one sister, Barbara (Jon Mark) Underwood, and one brother, Dennis Simmons, who passed away in 2022.
Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 16th, in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary. Burial will follow in Cresthaven Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service on Tuesday, September 16th, at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
