City of Bloomington Utilities issues Precautionary Boil Water Advisory

BLOOMINGTON – Due to unplanned maintenance, the City of Bloomington Utilities issued a Precautionary Boil Water Advisory for 21 addresses on 3rd Street, South Owens Drive, and South Wynnedale Drive.

The Precautionary Boil Water Advisory is in effect until 3 p.m. on Friday, September 12, unless otherwise notified.

The Indiana Department of Environmental Management (IDEM) requires all public water systems to issue a precautionary Boil Water Advisory when the pressure in the water main drops below 20 psi.

Those affected should follow these instructions:

  • Immediately after your normal water pressure is restored, run COLD water from a sink or tub
  • until clear water flows from the faucet.
  • Boil all water used for drinking, cooking, and oral hygiene for at least 5 minutes before consumption.
  • It is not necessary to boil water for other uses.

directly. Customers can use the form at bton.in/cbu24 to update their contact information
electronically.
