Boys & Girls Club of Lawrence County invites teens to join dynamic after-school program at Teen Center

BEDFORD — The Boys & Girls Club of Lawrence County is inviting area teens to join its Teen Center program this school year, offering daily after-school activities, homework help, and a safe place to gather for students in grades 7 through 12.

Located at the Thornton Memorial Teen Center on 16th Street, the program is open every school day from 3 to 8 p.m. Teens with an active club membership can attend free of charge. Annual membership is only $30.

The Teen Center provides a wide variety of activities designed for middle- and high-school students, including a maker space with 3D printing and robotics, cooking and gardening clubs, arts programs, tabletop and video games, pool, ping-pong, gym games, and daily snacks. Staff also offer academic support for students who need help with homework.

The program is flexible, allowing teens to attend every day after school, on days they don’t have other extracurriculars, or whenever it fits their family’s schedule. Students from Bedford Middle School can walk to the site, while Bedford North Lawrence High School students may ride the bus or drive. Youth who attend private schools or are homeschooled are also encouraged to participate.

The Boys & Girls Club of Lawrence County serves more than 1,000 youth each year across its programs, with an average daily attendance of more than 300. The organization’s mission is to provide a safe and positive environment while helping young people reach their full potential.

Parents interested in enrolling teens can register through the Club’s Parent Portal and ensure their child’s membership is up to date.

For more information, families can visit the Club’s website or call the Lawrence County location directly at 812-279-6123.
