FRANKLIN – Bedford North Lawrence finished 17th in a 21-team field competing in the Hall of Fame Classic at The Legends during girls high school golf action on Saturday.
The Stars carded 358. Top-ranked Zionsville won the team title with 305, followed by No.5 Westfield (311) and No.2 Carmel (312).
Sammie Nusbaum paced BNL with 80, while Kinleigh Root posted 87.
“Course conditions were pretty dry, and the girls showed a lot of grit to keep the ball in play and score,” BNL coach Carly Stigall said. “Sammie has really been pretty consistent this season and did a great job of not letting herself get rattled when shots didn’t go her way. Root has been working on her swing and still has a few swing keys to dial in, but she did a good job of not letting them get out of control to bring in a decent score
“After playing today, there was a lot of improvement shown compared to this tournament last season. There are still adjustments we need to make with the postseason tournaments approaching, but I’m proud of the girls’ fight.”
BNL will visit Seymour on Tuesday.
