BEDFORD – Lawrence County Superior Court II Judge Robert Cline sentenced a Bedford woman, Lindsay Turpin, 39, to the Indiana Department of Correction on August 21, after she failed to comply with the terms of her probation.

Turpin pleaded guilty to possession of methamphetamine, a Level 6 felony, on July 27, 2023, as part of a negotiated plea agreement with the State of Indiana. She was initially sentenced to 910 days, all suspended, and was ordered to serve 546 days on supervised probation in exchange for her guilty plea.
However, after failing to comply with the terms and conditions of her probation, Judge Cline sentenced Turpin to 900 days in the Indiana Department of Corrections and terminated her probation unsuccessfully.

Deputy Prosecuting Attorney Arthur Pearcy stated that appearing in court is one of the most basic and important responsibilities of anyone on probation. He added that when someone repeatedly ignores court orders, it undermines the justice process and shows a disregard for the opportunities the court has provided. “Her continued absence left us no choice but to pursue revocation,” he added.
