James Allen Francis, 53, of Freetown, passed away on August 24, 2025, at 7:12 a.m., surrounded by his family.
He was born in Seymour on July 12, 1972, to John and Elaine Francis. He was well known for the overwhelming love and devotion he had to his kids and grandkids, his sense of humor, and his giving and generous nature. He enjoyed music, wolves, Indiana, arrowhead hunting, diamond painting, puzzles, cooking, and being in the outdoors.
He cherished spending time with his grandkids. He graduated from Brownstown Central High School. He was good at all things with many talents, but his passion was trimming trees. He had also made many friends while previously working at NTN driveshaft and Toyota.
Jimmy is survived by his four children, Chelsie, Brady, Tayden, and Mylee; five grandchildren, Ruby, Emri, Mia, Cadgrien, and Oaklee; his parents, John and Elaine Francis; brothers David and Joey (Angie) Francis, sister, Jenny (Brent) Terry, and many nieces, nephews, and friends. He loved his dog, Thor.
Memorial services will be held on Friday, August 29, 2025, at noon, at the Freetown Church of Christ, 7077 N. State Road 135, Freetown, IN, 47235, with Pastor Barry Dewitt officiating. A memorial visitation will be held at the church from 10:00 a.m. until Noon. A meal will be served after the short service. A celebration of his life will be held afterward at one of his favorite spots on the river for those who wish to attend.
