Some Bloomington residents will be without water, Precautionary Boil Water Advisory issued for eight addresses

BLOOMINGTON – Due to planned maintenance, eight addresses on North Gates Drive will be without water from 9:30 p.m. tonight until 1:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 20.

These addresses will be under a precautionary Boil Water Advisory until 10 a.m. on Friday, August 22, unless otherwise notified.  More information and specific addresses at bloomington.in.gov/utilities or 812-339-1444

The Indiana Department of Environmental Management (IDEM) requires all public water systems to issue a precautionary Boil Water Advisory when the pressure drops below 20 psi in the water main. Those affected should follow these instructions: 

  • Immediately after your normal water pressure is restored, run COLD water from a sink or tub until clear water flows from the faucet.
  • Boil all water used for drinking, cooking, and oral hygiene for at least 5 minutes before consuming.
  • It is not necessary to boil water for other uses.

Affected customers with up-to-date contact information with CBU Customer Service were alerted directly. Customers can use the form at bton.in/cbu24 to update their contact information electronically.
