ORANGE CO. — A West Baden Springs man was arrested on Friday, August 15, following a year-long investigation into allegations of child molestation.
The Indiana State Police began the criminal investigation on July 7, 2024, after receiving information that Michael S. Anderson, 47, had allegedly molested a child.

Indiana State Police Detective Tyler Matthew led the investigation, and his findings were submitted to the Orange County Prosecutor’s Office. The prosecutor’s office reviewed the case, filed criminal charges against Anderson, and issued an arrest warrant.
Anderson was arrested at his place of employment around 4:00 p.m. without incident. He was taken to the Orange County Jail, where he is currently being held on multiple charges.
Anderson faces five counts of child molesting – forcible rape, a Class A felony.
Trooper Steven Nolan and the Orleans Police Department assisted Detective Matthew.
Those facing criminal charges are considered innocent unless convicted through due legal proceedings. Accusations alone do not imply guilt; the judicial system will evaluate the presented evidence to reach a verdict.
