Dorothy Faye Chestnut, 83, of Oolitic, passed away on Saturday, August 16, 2025, at IU Health Bedford Hospital.
Born April 3, 1942, in Fayetteville, IN, she was the daughter of Sherman and Dorthia (Mitchell) Hardgrove. She married Mike Chestnut on October 17, 1987, and he survives. She was a graduate of Fayetteville High School in the class of 1960. She worked at NWSC Crane as a production supervisor and was a member of the Oolitic Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Mike, of Oolitic; two daughters, Jodi Workman and husband, Jody, of Bargersville, Jami Stoute and husband, Mike, of Ellettsville; a son, Troy Barksdale, and wife, Stacey, of Bedford; three grandchildren, Stephanie Perez and husband, Erik, Troi Stith and husband, John, and Brady Barksdale; four great-grandchildren, Oliver and Ambriel, Madden and Lucy, two sisters, Vonda Wagner, of Bedford and Gaye Fitzgerald, of Avoca; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a grandson, Derrike.
No services are planned. A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.
