INDIANA — Dollar General has issued a recall for three lots of its Clover Valley Instant Coffee after a customer reported finding glass in the product, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced on Tuesday. The recall affects stores in 48 states, including Indiana.

The recalled coffee was sold at Dollar General locations between July 9 and July 21, 2025. The company is advising customers to immediately check their products and discard any that match the recalled lots.
The recall affects the following specific lots of Clover Valley Instant Coffee (8 oz., UPC: 876941004069):
- Lot 1: L-5163, with a best-by date of 12/13/2026
- Lot 2: L-5164, with a best-by date of 12/13/2026
- Lot 3: L-5165, with a best-by date of 12/14/2026
The recall was initiated after a customer reported the glass contamination issue to Dollar General employees. Ingesting glass fragments can lead to serious injuries, such as damage to teeth, cuts to the mouth and throat, or perforation of the intestines. While no injuries have been reported to date, the risk is considered significant.
Dollar General is still investigating the source of the glass contamination. The recalled products were sold in every state except for Hawaii and Alaska.
Customers who have purchased the affected coffee are instructed to dispose of it immediately and contact Dollar General for a full refund. Refunds can be requested by emailing customercare@dollargeneral.com or by calling 1-888-309-9030.
