Lawrence County completes chip and sealing, paving and culvert replacement ongoing

LAWRENCE CO.— During today’s Lawrence County Commissioner meeting, Highway Superintendent Brian Sowder announced that all chip and sealing of county roads has been completed.

Paving is now scheduled to begin on Stonington, Grandview, and Leatherwood Addition Roads, weather permitting.

In other news, a portion of Sieboldt Quarry Road will be closed on Wednesday, August 13, for a culvert replacement. The closure will affect the 2100 block of the road and is scheduled to begin at 7:30 a.m., with the road expected to reopen by 3 p.m., assuming no complications.

Detour routes will be in place for residents living east of the Sieboldt Quarry Road and Gas Line Road intersection, who will be directed to use Old State Road 37 for travel. Gas Line Road and Arthur Road will remain open during the construction.
