INDIANA— Indiana’s frog hunting season, which began on June 15, is currently open and will run through April 30, 2026. The season allows for the harvest of both bullfrogs and green frogs using various methods, including gigs, long bows and arrows, or clubs.

The daily bag limit is 25 frogs in combination, with a possession limit of 50.
Tips for a Successful Hunt
Frogs can be found in a range of aquatic environments, such as lakes, ponds, wetlands, and along riverbanks. While they can be hunted during the day, they are most often targeted at night. Hunters frequently use a flashlight, keeping the beam fixed on the frog to prevent it from moving as they approach.
Hunters are advised to avoid sudden movements and splashing water. Frogs are often found along vegetated banks, resting among cattails and other shoreline plants. The shine of a flashlight can illuminate their eyes, making them easier to spot.
