Williams woman arrested on warrant after Trooper find meth

WILLIAMS – A Williams woman was arrested after a home visit by probation officers and Indiana State Police led to the discovery of methamphetamine at her residence.

According to an affidavit for probable cause filed by Indiana State Police Trooper Ben Burris, he and Trooper Chance Humphrey assisted Lawrence County Probation Officers with a home visit at 555 Ridge Road in Williams on April 22, at approximately 4:26 p.m.

Upon arriving at the residence, officers made contact with three individuals, including 56-year-old Misty Wilson, who resides at the address. During a search conducted by the probation officers, a glass container holding a crystal substance was located on a side table next to the bed in the master bedroom. The substance field-tested positive for methamphetamine.

In a post-Miranda interview, Wilson admitted that the container and its contents belonged to her. She explained that although she and a male resident share the bedroom, the container was found on her side of the bed.

The methamphetamine was collected and submitted as evidence at the Indiana State Police Bloomington post. Misty D. Wilson faces a preliminary charge of possession of methamphetamine, a Level 6 felony. She was detained on Sunday, August 3.
