BEDFORD – A Bedford woman was arrested late Thursday night on multiple drug-related charges after a traffic stop initiated for speeding and an improper lane change.
According to an affidavit for probable cause filed by Officer J. Landon Jones of the Bedford Police Department, he observed an older model white pickup truck traveling at 51 miles per hour in a 30 mph zone on 16th Street around 8:29 p.m. Officer Jones also noted the driver changed lanes without a signal and was talking on a cell phone.
After initiating a traffic stop near 16th Street and Clinic Drive, Officer Jones made contact with the three occupants, none of whom were wearing seatbelts, including the male driver, 24-year-old Kylie L. Wolfe of Bedford, and another passenger.

Upon speaking with the occupants, Officer Jones detected a faint odor of marijuana. Although all occupants initially denied the presence of illegal narcotics, Wolfe later admitted there was marijuana in the vehicle.
Officer Bell and his K9 partner, Castiel, conducted a free air sniff of the vehicle, leading to a probable cause search. During the search, officers located a THC vape and a backpack. Inside the backpack, a glass jar containing marijuana, a metal utensil, and a small orange bag were found. Within the orange bag, officers discovered a clear plastic bag containing a powder-like substance and a socket with white residue.
Kylie Wolfe claimed ownership of the backpack and its contents. A search incident to the arrest of Wolfe revealed two additional red plastic baggies, each containing a powder-like substance, in her right pocket. She later admitted that the substances in the plastic bags were cocaine. The powder-like substance found in the orange bag tested positive for both cocaine and fentanyl, with a preliminary weight of six grams.
Based on the investigation, Kylie L. Wolfe was arrested and transported to the Lawrence County Jail on two charges of possession of a narcotic drug, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
All individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. This article is based on the information provided in the Probable Cause Affidavit and does not represent a final determination of guilt or innocence.
