Indiana State Police announce promotion of Sergeant Christopher Tucker to Sellersburg District Commander

SELLERSBURG- On Thursday, July 24, 2025, Indiana State Police Superintendent Anthony Scott promoted Sergeant Christopher Tucker to the rank of Lieutenant, appointing him as the Sellersburg District Commander. An official promotion ceremony, recognizing Lieutenant Tucker and other recently promoted officers, was held on Thursday, July 31, 2025, in Indianapolis.

Lieutenant Tucker, a 2003 graduate of North Harrison High School, earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Justice Administration from the University of Louisville in 2007. That same year, he graduated from the 68th Indiana State Police Recruit Academy and was assigned to the Sellersburg Post. There, he patrolled Clark and Floyd Counties before transitioning to Harrison County. During his time as a patrol officer, Tucker distinguished himself as a member of the ISP Honor Guard, a certified crash reconstructionist, and a field training officer. In 2013, he was honored as Trooper of the District.

In 2018, Tucker was promoted to Detective, where he investigated numerous high-profile cases over a five-year tenure. In June 2023, he advanced to Sergeant, serving as the Sellersburg District Investigative Squad Leader.

As the newly appointed Sellersburg District Commander, Lieutenant Tucker will oversee all ISP enforcement personnel across Clark, Floyd, Harrison, Scott, and Washington Counties.

Lieutenant Tucker resides in Harrison County with his wife, Amanda, and their two children.
