According to an affidavit for probable cause filed by Officer Aaron Manke of the Bedford Police Department, officers were dispatched to a residence in the 2000 block of F Street in response to a reported fight. Upon arrival, Officer Manke spoke with the female complainant.

In a video-recorded statement, the female alleged that Jordan Dotts, identified as an old boyfriend, assaulted her in front of her residence after attempting to enter her home without permission. She stated that an earlier incident had also occurred on the same day, for which a separate police report had been filed.

The woman recounted that she was in a shed attached to her house when she heard banging sounds from outside. Upon opening the door, she saw Dotts banging on the side door of the residence, yelling for a male to come outside. The woman stated she then moved to the side door and closed it, preventing Dotts from gaining entry. She alleges that when she stepped in front of Dotts, he “chest bumped” her and began yelling, demanding she retrieve the male from inside so he could fight him.

The woman stated that after the chest bump, she pushed Dotts to create distance, and they began shoving each other back and forth. She then informed Dotts she would call the police, at which point he allegedly waved to someone in a nearby bush line, saying, “Let’s get out of here,” before fleeing the scene. The woman was unable to identify the other person.

Officer Manke also spoke with the male inside, who stated that he was asleep and had been woken by the yelling. He reported going to the side door, where he saw Dotts in the doorway, blocking his entrance. The male stated he attempted to calm Dotts down for a conversation, but Dotts would not comply and subsequently left the residence.

The female expressed her desire to press charges against Dotts for battery and attempted unlawful entry into her home. She read and signed a Battery Affidavit, which was added to the incident file. She was also advised on how to obtain a Protective Order and stated she would check if her neighbors’ cameras might have captured the altercation.

Officers searched the area but were unsuccessful in locating Jordan Dotts.

Based on the investigation, Officer Manke has probable cause to believe that Jordan Dotts committed the crimes of domestic battery and attempted residential entry, and requested an arrest warrant. Dotts was detained later that day.
