Ivy Tech to host semiconductor program open house

BLOOMINGTON — Ivy Tech Community College Bloomington is hosting an Open House for its semiconductor fabrication program on Thursday, July 31, from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Indiana Center for the Life Sciences (ICLS). The public is invited to attend.

Attendees can learn about the short-term training program and participate in hands-on activities. Lab sessions featuring a photo etching activity will begin at 4:45 p.m. and 5:45 p.m. Guests can also explore the microelectronics industry by using a virtual reality headset.

Classes start August 25, and tuition could be free for eligible students, paid for by the state’s Next Level Jobs Workforce Ready Grant.

Staff will be on-site to assist guests with program enrollment or to guide them through the steps to becoming a student.
