FORT WAYNE – The Allen County Judicial Nominating Commission has announced three finalists who will be considered to fill the upcoming vacancy in the family relations division of the Allen Superior Court. The position became open due to the impending retirement of Judge Andrea Trevino.
The three finalists put forth by the commission are:
- Magistrate Brent Ecenbarger
- Magistrate Carolyn Foley
- Magistrate Sherry Hartzler
On Wednesday, July 23, the commission, chaired by Indiana Supreme Court Justice Christopher Goff, conducted interviews with four candidates. Following an executive session for deliberation, the commission publicly voted to submit these three names to Governor Mike Braun for consideration.
In accordance with Indiana law, the commission is mandated to provide the governor with a list of the three most qualified candidates for appointment whenever a judicial vacancy arises. Upon receiving this list, Governor Braun has 60 days to make his final appointment to the Allen Superior Court.
