FULTON CO. – A two-vehicle collision on State Road 25 near County Road 500 South on Sunday, July 20, 2025, resulted in one fatality and serious injuries to two others.
Indiana State Police, Fulton County Sheriff’s Office, and Fulton Police Department officers responded to the scene shortly after 2:30 p.m.
Preliminary investigation by Trooper Adam Kirk revealed that Nicole L. Davis, 43, of Gary, Indiana, was driving a 2021 KIA Sportage northbound on State Road 25. Her front passenger was Steven V. Davis, 41, also of Gary, and a juvenile was also in the vehicle. For reasons still under investigation, the KIA reportedly traveled into the path of a 2014 Ford F-150, driven by Jackson C. Rentschler, 20, of Lucerne, Indiana.
Nicole Davis was pronounced deceased at the crash scene by the Fulton County Coroner’s Office. Steven V. Davis and the juvenile sustained serious injuries and were transported to an area hospital. Jackson C. Rentschler was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries.
Investigators do not suspect alcohol or narcotics contributed to the crash. The incident remains under ongoing investigation.
Trooper Kirk received assistance from various agencies, including the Indiana State Police Peru Post, Fulton County Sheriff’s Office, Fulton Police Department, Liberty Township Volunteer Fire Department, Parkview EMS, Tipton County Coroner’s Office, and Wilson’s Towing.
