CLAY CO. – A high-speed pursuit on Monday, July 21, 2025, ended with a Terre Haute man in custody after his vehicle crashed in a parking lot.
At approximately 1:00 p.m., Indiana State Police Master Trooper Bill Bradbury observed a black passenger vehicle traveling northbound on State Road 59 near Clay City at an estimated 108 MPH, well above the posted 55 MPH speed limit. When Master Trooper Bradbury attempted a traffic stop, the driver, later identified as 20-year-old Marvin White of Terre Haute, allegedly ignored emergency lights, and a pursuit ensued.

The chase continued northbound on State Road 59 and then westbound on Interstate 70, with speeds reportedly exceeding 115 miles per hour. White’s vehicle exited I-70 at exit 11 (State Road 46), turning eastbound onto Margaret Drive. After approximately two miles, White made an abrupt U-turn through a private drive and began traveling westbound. Despite several evasive maneuvers, White reportedly lost control of the vehicle, driving into the parking lot of VoMac Sales and Service, where he struck a parked vehicle before coming to a complete stop.
White was then taken into custody without further incident. He was arrested and transported to the Clay County Jail, where he is currently being held without bond.
Marvin White faces preliminary charges of:
- Resisting Law Enforcement with a Vehicle (Felony 6)
- Criminal Recklessness with a Vehicle (Felony 6)
- Reckless Driving (Class B Misdemeanor)
Assisting agencies included the Clay County Sheriff’s Department, Vigo County Sheriff’s Department, Terre Haute Police Department, and JC’s Wrecker Service.
