BEDFORD – A Williams man was sentenced to the Indiana Department of Corrections today after failing to comply with the terms of his probation.

Jeremiah J. Baker, 27, was ordered to serve 850 days in prison by Lawrence Superior Court II Judge Robert Cline, who also unsuccessfully terminated his probation.
Baker had previously pleaded guilty to Possession of Cocaine, a Level 6 felony, on June 12, 2025, as part of a negotiated plea agreement with the State of Indiana. He was initially sentenced to 910 days, with 10 days’ jail credit, and the remainder of his sentence suspended. In exchange for his guilty plea, he was ordered to serve 365 days on supervised probation.

Deputy Prosecuting Attorney Arthur Pearcy commented on the sentencing, stating, “Probation is a privilege meant to support rehabilitation, not a free pass. When someone chooses to ignore the law and the terms they agreed to, accountability must follow. This sentence reinforces that justice does not pause for repeated excuses”.
