BLOOMINGTON – A Fairfax, Virginia, man is facing rape charges in Bloomington following an alleged assault after a Tinder meet-up.
Atajan Muhatdinov, 32, has been charged with two counts of rape, both Level 3 felonies.

According to court documents, Bloomington police were dispatched to a local hospital at approximately 11:21 a.m. on July 11. Officers met with a woman who reported she had been raped the previous night near Upland Brewery.
The victim informed investigators that she had connected with Muhatdinov via the dating app Tinder, and the pair had gone on a date at the brewery. After dinner and drinks, the woman alleged that Muhatdinov assaulted her while they were seated on a bench in a nearby park. He then reportedly raped her again in her vehicle shortly thereafter.
Investigators stated that the victim provided a detailed account of both alleged sexual assaults. Nurses at the hospital later documented bruising on various parts of the woman’s body, which authorities indicated appeared consistent with her allegations.
Those facing criminal charges are considered innocent until proven guilty through due legal proceedings. Accusations alone do not imply guilt; the judicial system will evaluate the presented evidence to reach a verdict.
