Traffic stop on SR 56 leads to OWI arrest of Morocco man in West Baden Springs

WEST BADEN SPRINGS –A routine traffic stop for speeding in West Baden Springs on Saturday morning led to the arrest of an Indiana man on an operating a vehicle while intoxicated charge.

Indiana State Police Trooper Noah Ewing was patrolling State Road 56 on July 12 when he pulled over a vehicle for exceeding the posted speed limit. Upon making contact with the driver, identified as Todd DeYoung, Trooper Ewing observed visible signs of impairment.

DeYoung was subsequently transported to IU Health Hospital in Paoli for a chemical test. Following the test, he was arrested and transported to the Orange County Jail, where he is currently being held on bond.

Todd M. DeYoung, 24, of Morocco, Indiana, faces a charge of OWI, a Class C misdemeanor.

Trooper Noah Ewing was the arresting officer, with assistance provided by the West Baden Police Department.

All criminal defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
