SEYMOUR – A Seymour man has been charged in Jennings County following an investigation by the Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Office into allegations of child molestation. Charles Reynolds, 55, faces one count of child molesting, a Level 4 felony.

According to court documents filed last month in Jennings County, Bartholomew County deputies initiated their investigation in April 2025. A 14-year-old girl reported that Reynolds had molested her multiple times when she was between six and seven years old.
Following the completion of the investigation, an arrest warrant was issued for Reynolds. He was subsequently taken into custody in Seymour and is currently being held in the Jennings County Jail on a $75,000 bond.
Reynolds’ pretrial conference is scheduled for August 21, and his jury trial is expected to begin on October 20.
Those facing criminal charges are considered innocent unless convicted through due legal proceedings. Accusations alone do not imply guilt; the judicial system will evaluate the presented evidence to reach a verdict.
