LAWRENCE COUNTY, Ind. (AP) — A Mitchell man, William Tolbert, 33, is facing a misdemeanor charge of invasion of privacy after allegedly violating court-ordered protection orders involving three children, according to the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department.

According to the affidavit, the children described a man matching Tolbert’s appearance as being present during several recent visits. Their statements were consistent with Tolbert’s booking records, which document distinctive tattoos on his face and neck.
Sgt. Compton later interviewed the woman, who admitted Tolbert had been at the home in the past but claimed he was not present during visits with the children. Court records show the protection orders had been in place since July 2024.
Despite multiple attempts by Sgt. Compton to reach Tolbert by phone, but no contact was made. A warrant for his arrest has been requested.
Those arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
