Suspect arrested for Bloomington Jun. 18 shooting

BLOOMINGTON- On July 9, 2025, 36-year-old Jerry L. Jackson, transient, was arrested for a shooting that took place on June 18, 2025, in the 4600 block of College Drive, in Bloomington, Indiana. There were two victims of the shooting, both of whom were treated at the hospital and released, and are expected to recover.

Since the incident took place, Detectives with the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office identified Jackson as the suspect, obtained an arrest warrant, and have worked diligently to locate him. Jackson was taken into custody without incident with the assistance of the Bloomington Police Department/Monroe County Sheriff’s Office Critical Incident Response Team (CIRT) and booked into the Monroe County Jail on the warrant for the charges of Attempted Murder, a Level 1 felony, and Aggravated Battery, a Level 3 felony.

Charges listed are merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
