BLOOMINGTON- On July 8, at 8:25 p.m., the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office located a stolen trailer being towed by a utility truck near the intersection of W 3rd Street and S Liberty Drive. Deputies contacted the vehicle in a nearby parking lot and began to speak with the two male occupants of the vehicle.


During the investigation, it was determined that the trailer had been reported stolen out of Kentucky and was still outstanding. Furthermore, it was determined that one of the occupants of the truck had a nationwide extradition warrant out of Alabama in relation to felony weapon charges.
While searching the male wanted out of Alabama, he was found to have approximately 26 grams of
suspected methamphetamine on his person. Deputies established probable cause to search the interior
of the truck that was pulling the stolen trailer.
During the search of the vehicle, Deputies located an additional bag of suspected methamphetamine, found to contain a total of 112 grams of methamphetamine. In all, 138 grams of methamphetamine was located and seized.
Austin Martin (30) of Indianapolis was taken into custody and remanded to the Monroe
County Jail on a criminal charge of: Possession of Methamphetamine (IC 35-48-4-6.1, Level 3 Felony).Â
Brad Blakely (33) of Gadsden, Alabama, was also taken into custody and remanded to the Monroe
County Jail on a criminal charge of: Possession of Methamphetamine (IC 35-48-4-6.1, Level 4 Felony)
in addition to his felony arrest warrant out of Alabama.Â
The stolen trailer was impounded at the request of the originating agency and is being held in secure
storage for later retrieval by its rightful owner.
Those arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
