Lawrence County Commissioners address payment for Annex repairs, Address animal control concerns

BEDFORD – The Lawrence County Commissioners have formally approved payments for completed repair work at the Lawrence County Annex, while also setting plans to address ongoing animal control issues within the county.

At their meeting on Tuesday morning, the commissioners agreed to pay Gary’s Welding & Machining $4,600 for repairs to the steps and an additional $1,200 to fabricate and install handrails at the Lawrence County Annex, specifically in the lower parking lot. Gary’s Welding & Machining had been awarded this job in 2024, and the work has now been completed.

In other county business, the commissioners announced their intention to meet with officials from the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department. This meeting will focus on addressing persistent animal control issues and reviewing existing county ordinances related to animals running loose.
