BEDFORD – Residents on Stevens Lane, specifically those with addresses west of the former railroad tracks, are currently under a boil water advisory until further notice.
The advisory was issued after a contractor struck a water line on Stevens Lane.
Crews are currently on-site working to repair the damaged line.
During a boil water advisory, residents should take the following precautions before consuming tap water:
- Boil Water Vigorously: Bring all water to a rolling boil for at least one minute.
- Cool Before Use: Allow the water to cool completely before using it for drinking, making ice, washing dishes, brushing teeth, or preparing food.
- Alternative Water Sources: Consider using bottled water as an alternative during the advisory period.
The advisory will remain in effect until testing confirms the water supply is safe for consumption. Further updates will be provided as repairs are completed and water quality tests are finalized.
