Harry W. Shepard of Bedford, passed away Sunday, June 22, 2025, surrounded by his family.
Harry grew up in Northwest Indiana, where he met and married the love of his life and raised their four children. He retired from Gary Steel Products, Gary, Indiana. Harry was a hardworking family man who bequeathed to his children a strong work ethic and a deep commitment to family.
Those who were close to him knew that he had spiritual struggles in life, but at 81 years old, he recommitted his life to God, was baptized, and insisted on paying tithes.
Harry was preceded in death by his parents, John and Mary Shepard; his wife of 54 years, Carolyn (Breneman) Shepard; and his siblings, Terry and Tom Shepard, Donna Barnes, Laura Shepard, Joan Shepard, Wesley Calvert, and Tracy Sullivan.
Harry is survived by his sister, Kellie Sullivan; children, Candi Chapman, Harry Butch (Tammy) Shepard, Frank (Shana) Shepard, and David (Kelly) Shepard; grandchildren, Barbara Lintner-Croy, Chad Lintner, Brandon (Cortnee) Lintner, Cheyanne (Jonathan) Hackett, Stephanie Chapman, Justin (Beth) Shepard, Jessi (Victor) Shepard-Krause, Shaylah (Nick) Lindsey, Garrett Shepard, Kenny Camp, Justin Camp, Shane (Ashley) Camp, Ashley Camp, and Brandon Camp; many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.
“For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day.“ 2 Corinthians 4:16.
A memorial service for Harry will be held at Seymour Trinity Pentecostal Chapel, 1013 W. Laurel St., Seymour, IN, on July 12 at 2:00 p.m. (EST), Pastor Ryan Bradley officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in honor of Harry’s wife, Carolyn, to Memory Care at Westview Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center, 1510 Clinic Dr., Bedford, IN 47421, where she spent her final days.
